The moon has always fascinated me, in all its stages. More so after learning about the Hijri calendar and moon sighting. I even remember a rhyme I used to sing back in primary school to memorize the names of the twelve months.
Indeed, the number of months with Allah is twelve [lunar] months in the register of Allah [from] the day He created the heavens and the earth; of these, four are sacred. That is the correct religion, so do not wrong yourselves during them. (Surah Al Tawbah)
They ask you, [O Muhammad], about the waxing and waning of the moon. Say, “They are measurements of time for the people and for Hajj.” (Surah Al Baqarah)
May Allah help us unite on moon sighting and save us from moon fighting.
