For the fifth time this week, I was torn between attending prayers at the Masjid and praying at home. I love the smooth, soothing recitation of the Imam and the tranquil aura of the Masjid, but praying at home gives me the opportunity to spend some alone time with the Quran that I have memorized. What is the best option? I love both.
I know some people who vehemently discourage women from praying in the Masjid and argue that she has a greater reward if she prays at home. On the other hand, I know some women who are students of knowledge and they try to attend prayers at the Masjid as much as possible because it is easier for them to concentrate and study in the Masjid environment.
After a few frantic searches and questions, I came to a conclusion:
A woman’s prayer in her home is better for her, but if she finds increased goodness through righteous company and beneficial lessons in the Masjid, then she should go as long as she maintains her cover.
